Paul   K. Winter

In the early 1960s I was a university student and I developed the urge to decorate my flat. So I painted a couple of large, somewhat abstract landscapes and a couple of portraits using oil and acrylic paint. (see the last four pictures) I spent the next forty years as a software developer, manager of various information technology departments, data architect, semantic data modeler, and director of information technology architecture. Over all those years I had two secret yearnings: (1) to learn to play the tenor sax, and (2) to paint. I am now doing both. I had no art training whatsoever but I've read many books on techniques and I also rely on the advice of my painter friends. I started to paint with watercolour in October, 2001 and in February of 2004 I started to explore acrylics. What you see here is what came more or less naturally since then.
